How To Choose A Dentist (Consider Convenience)

Categories: General Dentistry

Choosing A Dentist In GibsontonThe team at Your Time Dental Urgent Care gets a lot of questions on how to choose a dentist. Here are some things you should consider:

Extended Hours?

Life can be busy. Fitting in a dentist appointment shouldn’t upend your schedule. Visiting a dentist with evening and weekend hours is smart move for busy people. (Isn’t that all of us?)

Convenient Location?

Location is always a factor when selecting a dentist. If you live in the Gibsonton, Florida area, there are many options. While location plays an important role in convenience, many of us are willing to drive a little farther for a better experience.

Do You Feel Comfortable?

Chairside manner is an important factor. Your dentist should be approachable and make you feel relaxed when you are in the dentist chair. After all, your dentist will be working very closely with you to help you achieve and maintain oral health; you most certainly will want to have a comfortable relationship with your dentist and the staff.

Specialty?

Specialty is another factor. Some dentists specialize in cosmetic dentistry. Others specialize in orthodontia. Depending on your need, you may select a local dentist who can solve your immediate concern. Bear in mind, however, that it is good to have a general dentist who can maintain your dental history and offer ongoing general dental care.

Your Time Dental Urgent Care is more than just an emergency dentist. We offer a number of great dental services. We also have several locations. Call us today at Kernagis Dental Excellence in the Tampa, Apollo Beach, Lithia or FishHawk area. If your dental needs are urgent but not emergencies, that’s no reason to avoid calling us. Questions To Ask Your Urgent Care Dentist

Categories: General Dentistry

Sometimes Gibsonton residents research their mechanic or hairdresser more thoroughly than their dental professional. Shouldn’t your oral health be far more important? At Your Time Dental Urgent Care, we love to answer questions about all facets of dentistry.

What Training and Experience Do You Have?

You may have questions about a dentist’s training and experience. Drs. Kernagis has been performing complex dental procedures since 2001. If you have questions about the dental schools attended, be sure to ask about it during your consultation.

What General Services Do You Offer?

You probably have questions about the types of services your dentist offers. These may include crowns, braces, fillings, dental bridges, root canals, dental bonding, white fillings, and gum contouring. These services may not be important to you now, but it is a good idea to have an understanding of your options.

What Cosmetic Procedures Do You Provide?

If you are contemplating smile restoration, tooth implants, or tooth whitening, discuss cosmetic dentistry services. Look at before and after pictures and ask your dentist which procedures may be right for you. At Your Time Dental Urgent Care, we provide general dental services and specialty procedures in addition to emergency dental care.

In addition, our dental hygienists perform the most thorough deep dental cleanings of any practice in Florida. If you haven’t run your tongue along smooth, tartar-free teeth in a while, come in for a dental cleaning. It’s a wonderful feeling!

What Are The Risks of This Procedure?

If you visit your urgent care dentist because you have a dental emergency, things will start moving fast. You might need anesthesia. Be sure to find out about the risks and benefits before you proceed.

What Kinds of Fillings Do You Use?

You have a choice in dental fillings. Some dentists offer white, metal-free fillings. Ask your dentist about filling materials.

Why Visit The Dentist?

Why Visit The Dentist?

In today’s post, we share a personal story from a patient:

For many years, I didn’t have ‘go to the dentist at the top of my to-do list.

But all that has changed. I now consider visits a fundamental part of my personal health plan.

Here’s why…

Teeth won’t stay healthy without scheduled dental visits. I’ve come to realize this more definitively as I get older. From the obvious functional utility to the important cosmetic nature of teeth, we literally can’t live without them.

When it comes to functional utility, teeth are the foundation of our health. We use them to eat every day. The status of our teeth can impose needless restrictions on our diet. With no teeth at all, our diet might be so restricted we don’t get the necessary nutrition.

For those who don’t have teeth, this is a sobering realization. Dentures and other prosthetic solutions can help. There are substitutes for the real thing, but having your own genuine teeth is preferred.

When it comes to the cosmetic side, there isn’t a replacement for a bright and toothy smile. It may be the most noticeable element of our face. Having a pleasing smile our self-esteem.

I’ve learned that a healthy smile is more than just a nice set of teeth. It contributes to all personal interactions.

Aging combined with poor dental hygiene is perilous for teeth. The simple process of eating causes wear and tear. A continuous bacterial onslaught threatens the protective enamel. Cavities, periodontitis (advanced gum disease), and trauma round out the list of detriments that could separate us from our teeth.

We Want To Help You Have a Healthy Smile

Healthy oral habits are, of course, the best way to keep your teeth in great shape. Practicing daily oral hygiene will improve your health now and in the future.

Regular dental visits are also indispensable. Your dentist can help you improve the health of your teeth. Your Time Dental Urgent Care can help you discover oral problems before they become destructive.

Since your teeth are central to your overall health, it is essential to find a reliable dentist who can help.

At Your Time Dental Urgent Care, we have extended hours. We can accommodate your schedule.
