Same Day Smile Makeovers At Your Time Dental Urgent Care

Same Day Smile Makeovers At Your Time Dental Urgent Care In Gibsonton Have you ever wished your cosmetic dentist could glue new pearly white covers on your existing teeth as easily as you paint a wall in your house? Guess what? With porcelain veneers, it’s possible. Porcelain veneers are wafer-thin tooth-shaped fronts that are permanently bonded to your natural teeth.

Unlike a crown procedure, your dentist does not need to remove tooth structure to place the restoration.

At Your Time Dental Urgent Care, veneers are used alone and in combination with other cosmetic dental procedures in complete smile makeovers. Because they can correct cosmetic tooth misalignment in one visit, veneers are sometimes referred to as ‘instant orthodontics’.

Do veneers look like natural teeth?
Skilled dental lab artists create porcelain veneers with the color, reflective properties, and translucency of natural teeth: perfect natural teeth, that is. In addition, porcelain veneers can be produced in any size or shape.

Are veneers
strong?
Porcelain veneers are fabricated out of extremely durable material. If you have questions about whether a veneer or dental crown is the best choice for you, talk to us. Drs. Kernagis will consider the size and condition of the tooth and its position in the mouth.

How long do veneers last?
Some smile makeover patients have veneers they received over 15 years ago. (And they still look good!) If properly cared for, veneers can last as long as dental crowns.

Are porcelain veneers affordable
?
The cost of cosmetic dental veneers at Your Time Dental Urgent Care is competitive with another premium cosmetic dental practices in the Tampa area.

We use the top dental lab to create our veneers and a significant portion of the cost goes to the lab. Porcelain veneers are often less expensive than crowns and orthodontia.

How To Choose A Dentist (Consider Convenience)

Categories: General Dentistry

Choosing A Dentist In GibsontonThe team at Your Time Dental Urgent Care gets a lot of questions on how to choose a dentist. Here are some things you should consider:

Extended Hours?

Life can be busy. Fitting in a dentist appointment shouldn’t upend your schedule. Visiting a dentist with evening and weekend hours is smart move for busy people. (Isn’t that all of us?)

Convenient Location?

Location is always a factor when selecting a dentist. If you live in the Gibsonton, Florida area, there are many options. While location plays an important role in convenience, many of us are willing to drive a little farther for a better experience.

Do You Feel Comfortable?

Chairside manner is an important factor. Your dentist should be approachable and make you feel relaxed when you are in the dentist chair. After all, your dentist will be working very closely with you to help you achieve and maintain oral health; you most certainly will want to have a comfortable relationship with your dentist and the staff.

Specialty?

Specialty is another factor. Some dentists specialize in cosmetic dentistry. Others specialize in orthodontia. Depending on your need, you may select a local dentist who can solve your immediate concern. Bear in mind, however, that it is good to have a general dentist who can maintain your dental history and offer ongoing general dental care.

Your Time Dental Urgent Care is more than just an emergency dentist. We offer a number of great dental services. We also have several locations. Call us today at Kernagis Dental Excellence in the Tampa, Apollo Beach, Lithia or FishHawk area. If your dental needs are urgent but not emergencies, that’s no reason to avoid calling us. We have late and weekend hours specifically so that you CAN call us when you need to.

Questions To Ask Your Urgent Care Dentist

Categories: General Dentistry

emergency dental office Gibsonton

Sometimes Gibsonton residents research their mechanic or hairdresser more thoroughly than their dental professional. Shouldn’t your oral health be far more important? At Your Time Dental Urgent Care, we love to answer questions about all facets of dentistry.

What Training and Experience Do You Have?

You may have questions about a dentist’s training and experience. Drs. Kernagis has been performing complex dental procedures since 2001. If you have questions about the dental schools attended, be sure to ask about it during your consultation.

What General Services Do You Offer?

You probably have questions about the types of services your dentist offers. These may include crowns, braces, fillings, dental bridges, root canals, dental bonding, white fillings, and gum contouring. These services may not be important to you now, but it is a good idea to have an understanding of your options.

What Cosmetic Procedures Do You Provide?

If you are contemplating smile restoration, tooth implants, or tooth whitening, discuss cosmetic dentistry services. Look at before and after pictures and ask your dentist which procedures may be right for you. At Your Time Dental Urgent Care, we provide general dental services and specialty procedures in addition to emergency dental care.

In addition, our dental hygienists perform the most thorough deep dental cleanings of any practice in Florida. If you haven’t run your tongue along smooth, tartar-free teeth in a while, come in for a dental cleaning. It’s a wonderful feeling!

What Are The Risks of This Procedure?

If you visit your urgent care dentist because you have a dental emergency, things will start moving fast. You might need anesthesia. Be sure to find out about the risks and benefits before you proceed.

What Kinds of Fillings Do You Use?

You have a choice in dental fillings. Some dentists offer white, metal-free fillings. Ask your dentist about filling materials.

Inlays And Onlays For Custom Same-Day Tooth Restorations

At Your Time Dental Urgent Care in Gibsonton, we perform many tooth restorationsafter hours dental practice Gibsonton  for urgent care patients. We’ve been restoring teeth since 2001 for our valued patients.

We fill cavities, repair broken teeth and also place dental implants after a tooth extraction. Regardless of the extent of the tooth damage—or if the tooth has to be extracted—we create custom restorations.

In today’s post, we are going to talk about two types of restorations: inlays and onlays.

What’s The Difference Between an Inlay And an Onlay?

Both inlays and onlays are smaller than full crowns. They can be made of metal, composite resin, or porcelain.

Inlays and onlays are very strong and shaped to precisely fit a hole in a damaged tooth. The choice of an inlay or onlay depends on how much decay and tooth loss has taken place.

An inlay resembles a filling and fills a small part of the tooth, while an onlay covers one or more cusps, or bumps, on the top of the tooth.

  • An inlay fills a hole without changing the shape of the tooth
  • An onlay builds up the tooth surface to restore its initial dimension

Inlays And Onlays in One Dental Visit

With our CEREC technology, we can create and place an inlay or an onlay in one dental visit.

The treatment begins with a thorough evaluation and x-ray. We will remove the damaged tooth structure and we mill the inlay or onlay to accurately fit your tooth and bite.

After the CEREC milling machine creates the restoration, it’s permanently bonded to the tooth. Same day restoration!

Matched Perfectly to Your Tooth Color

Inlays and onlays are durable and inconspicuous. We match them to the specific shade of your tooth. No silver amalgam.

Inlays and onlays protect the tooth from further deterioration. They provide natural function.

99 Problems And A Toothache Is Only One Of Them

Categories: Cosmetic Dentistry

total mouth reconstruction Gibsonton

At Your Time Dental Urgent Care in Gibsonton, many urgent care patients come in because a toothache is unbearable.

We provide a variety of procedures to stop tooth pain. More importantly, we eliminate the underlying cause of the pain.

It may call for removing decay and crowning a tooth. It may require a root canal.

But…

Sometimes a patient has 99 problems and a toothache is only one of them.

The good news is that we offer entire mouth reconstruction.

What is Full Mouth Reconstruction?

Total mouth reconstruction is a multi-procedure smile makeover. The combination of services depends on the specific problems. There is no less-than-attractive smile that can’t be upgraded.

Dental implants or implant-anchored dentures restore missing teeth. If there is insufficient bone structure for securing an implant, we can strengthen existing bone with a bone graft.

Soft tissue grafts fix gum recession. Porcelain crowns can correct damaged teeth. Porcelain veneers can correct less extensive cosmetic imperfections like chips and cracks. Tooth whitening takes care of stains and discoloration.

Total Mouth Reconstruction: A Case Study

Let’s describe a hypothetical full mouth reconstruction.

First, the ’99’ problems (okay, there were about 15):

‘Jim’ was a 67-year-old man with a mouthful of troubles. He had received extensive radiation for cancer several years earlier. The radiation therapy damaged soft tissues in his mouth. This led to gum recession which revealed the metal bases of two old crowns.

The exposed tooth roots had decayed. Three of his teeth had to be taken out. Four of his original teeth were broken. Jim also had bone recession at the extraction sites. Plus a couple old crowns that were broken.

The Your Time Dental Urgent Care solution:

Jim received implant placements for the missing teeth. We made new crowns to replace the broken ones. We executed soft tissue grafts to correct the gum recession. Two of his existing teeth were cracked but intact and decay-free. We repaired these teeth with porcelain veneers.

The result; an attractive brand-new smile!

Every tooth in the mouth restored. No amalgam fillings.

If you have 99 dental problems, give us a call. Your Time Dental Urgent Care is more than just an emergency dentist. We offer a number of great dental services. If your dental needs are urgent but not emergencies, that’s no reason to avoid calling us. We have late and weekend hours specifically so that you CAN call us when you need to.

What To Do If Your Crown Comes Off

Categories: Dental Emergency

what to do if dental crown comes off Gibsonton

Quite often, people get stressed out if their dental crown moves or comes off completely. It may have shifted or come off while brushing, flossing, or even simply eating.

Call us at Your Time Dental Urgent Care in Gibsonton.

You may need emergency dental care.

In the meantime, this is what to do:

There are three steps:

1. First things first, find your crown if it has come off completely. If you think you may have accidentally swallowed it, it’s not the end of the world. This is fairly common. You will need to have a new one made.  The original may be reattached if you find it in your mouth -as long as it’s not damaged.

2. The second thing you need to do is call your dentist. If you’re still going to the same dental office that initially put it in, they might put it back free of charge. Especially if you got the crown recently.

If you have moved, or don’t currently have a dentist, give us a call. We’ll reattach it for a reasonable price.

Remember these two important things:

  • Even if we didn’t provide the crown service, we can re-attach it for you.
  • If the crown is broken, we can make a replacement crown in one visit.

3. What if your crown comes off after business hours or on the weekend? No problem. We are an urgent care office with extended hours.

If you want to see your regular dentist, you can glue it back on while waiting for an appointment. This will safeguard the exposed tooth. Remember, the tooth is not as sturdy as an uncrowned tooth.

To reattach it, we advise using denture adhesive. You can find it at a drugstore.

Follow the directions on the adhesive. To make certain it sets, softly bite down on the crown while the adhesive is still wet. Be extra wary while waiting for your appointment. Eat soft foods so you don’t damage the tooth.

Your Time Dental Urgent Care is more than just an emergency dentist. We offer a number of great dental services. If your dental needs are urgent but not emergencies, that’s no reason to avoid calling us. We have late and weekend hours specifically so that you CAN call us when you need to.

Same-Day Tooth Pain Relief

Categories: Dental Emergency

walk-in dental practice Gibsonton

When you have a toothache, that’s all you can think about. It makes it difficult to handle your everyday tasks. If the tooth starts hurting after business hours or on the weekend, you may resign yourself to waiting until a traditional dental practice opens.

In the case of a dental emergency, call us at Your Time Dental Urgent Care.

When others are closed, Your Time Dental Urgent Care is here for you. We treat walk-in dental emergencies. That means you don’t need to make an appointment.

We will identify the cause of the tooth pain and take care of you.

Is A Toothache A Dental Emergency?

Yes. Here’s why. Tooth pain may be a symptom of an urgent condition. We are equipped to treat many causes of tooth pain. Your tooth pain may be caused by one of the following:

  • Decay – Eventually, decay can reach the tooth nerve. Ouch! The earlier the trouble is addressed, the better your chances of saving the tooth.
  • Gum disease  – Gum disease (or the more serious periodontitis) may cause pain. It should be treated immediately before teeth loosen. At that point, you risk losing them.
  • Damaged Tooth Pulp – When the inner nerves down in the root of the tooth become infected, an emergency root canal can allow you to retain the tooth. Plus it ends the pain!
  • Maybe It’s Not Your Tooth – Everything’s connected, right? Problems with surrounding systems can cause tooth pain along with a lot of other symptoms. Your tooth pain may be caused by an ear or sinus infection.

Whether it’s a condition with your tooth, or something else, let’s get it taken care of.

Your Time Dental Urgent Care is more than just an emergency dentist. We offer a number of great dental services. If your dental needs are urgent but not emergencies, that’s no reason to avoid calling us. We have late and weekend hours specifically so that you CAN call us when you need to.
